Postcard 3: Castle on a Precipice
My third postcard illustration is trying to recreate some of the dizzy thrill of mountains and castles. Everybody loves castles, right? Well, I love castles. This has nods to some of the North Wales castles like Caernarfon and Conwy, with their concentric walls and sheer drops to the stone and water below. The mountains in the background owe a lot to views of Snowdonia and my home turf in the Peak District. The weather certainly suits this part of the country. It feels like home.
